The Adjutant General's Corps played their first home fixture at Worthy Down since the rebuild of the Corp's home garrison began in 2015 and it was a happy homecoming. The team started brightly with the set piece dominant and a searing break by outside centre Dan Bradford set up an early close range try for Scott Pocock. The team continued to build on a strong forward platform and two further tries followed from Dan Bradford and Sam Draper. Despite a lack of possession the Army Air Corps defence remained resolute in the face of continous AGC pressure and they continued to look dangerous on the break managing to stay in touch with a long range try on the 25 minute. However, the AGC continued to enjoy the lions share of first half possession and territory and were again rewarded when No.8 Rob Heath peeled off the back of a driving lineout maul to see the team go into half time leading 24-7.
The Army Air Corps rallied strongly after the break and started to play with more width and get their hard running back row forwards into the game. Two converted tries followed for the AAC and a harsh yellow card for an offside offence by the AGC hooker Paul Harhoff saw them kick a 3 pointer to bring the scores level. At 24 all and with a man less the game seemed to be slipping away from the AGC. It was at this point with 20 minutes to go that team captain James Cocks somehow managed to turn the game around. With some smart territorial kicking and directing his forwards to keep the ball tight the AGC managed to set up camp again in their opponents 22. Two penalties followed to re-establish the lead and a drop goal on 78 minutes from the captain made it once again a two score game. A final AAC attack was eventually snuffed out with a trademark turnover from openside Harry Woloszynski and the ball was booted off the field to seal a hard fought 33-24 win.
